Lexi Barruso, Ed.S., CSAT-Candidate

Therapist

Lexi Barruso is a therapist at Integrative Life Center, providing group and individual services for clients struggling with intimacy disorders, behavioral addictions, substance addictions, and trauma at the residential level of care. Lexi received her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) Candidate and has completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Gottman Level One, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Betrayal Trauma, and Attachment-based Sexual Compulsivity. Prior to beginning her student counseling career, Lexi has completed training as a Peer Support Recovery Specialist through the state of Tennessee and has worked within the field of mental health in a variety of settings since 2013.

Lexi helps clients understand how past relationships and experiences shape their views of themselves and others, affecting their emotions and behavior today. She works with individuals to uncover how unconscious patterns from the past influence current relationships. Lexi knows these patterns can make it hard to be vulnerable and authentic, both in therapy and in life, often causing people to hide their true selves. She sees therapy as a team effort, creating a safe space for clients to heal and grow through supportive, emotional experiences.
