Labyrinth Therapy
A Tool to Integrate Your Healing
Set an Intention
Relax and Meditate
Connect with Your Spiritual Self
A Grounding, Flexible Tool
A labyrinth is an intricate maze or curving path that weaves around a central point. A person can walk the pattern of the labyrinth as a tool for meditation, grounding, or inspiration. The walk is usually a spiritual one made with intention and invites a person to find deep connection through this symbol of ancient wisdom and transformation.
Ways to use a labyrinth for healing in mental health include:
- Going to a physical location of a labyrinth and walking through the path while doing a meditation and breathing deeply
- Using a miniature labyrinth inside a counseling office or treatment center and tracing your finger through the maze, attempting to relax as you do so
- Using an actual labyrinth or a finger labyrinth as a grounding tool when you’re feeling stressed or anxious
- Walking a labyrinth, visualizing yourself walking a labyrinth, or tracing a finger labyrinth to open or close counseling sessions, which helps ground you and facilitates healing
