Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy
Groundbreaking, Medication-Free Depression Treatment
Treats Medication-Resistant Depression
Eliminates Anxiety from a Lack of Healing Options
Life-Changing Relief of Depressive Symptoms
You’ve All But Given Up
You’ve been living with depression for as long as you can remember. It seems you’ve tried every medication available. Some don’t work at all. Others work until your body adjusts, then you’re right back where you started. And you’re dealing with the side effects of various medications and still feel depressive symptoms. The lack of options to feel better makes you more anxious. It feels like there is nothing you haven’t tried. You’ve all but given up, and you think this might just be how your life will be.
You need treatment that:
- Eliminates or drastically decreases the symptoms of depression
- Allows you to discontinue or significantly reduce the use of side effect-laden medications
- Calms your anxiety and fear that there’s no help for you
- Gives you fast relief from depression
- Provides life-changing results so you can live the happy, authentic life you deserve
It May Be Time for TMS
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy activates areas of the brain that are underactive because of depression. It is a proven, non-drug method of treating Major Depressive Disorder in adult patients (18 to 65 years old) when antidepressants aren’t successful.
A study of real-world outcomes of TMS reported an 83% response rate, meaning patients experienced notable relief and a 62% remission rate of symptoms.
TMS Therapy also is approved for treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder to help minimize the disorder’s symptoms.
How TMS Works
For Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment, you recline in a chair while the medical professional uses the NeuroStar® machine to deliver focused magnetic stimulation directly to the target areas of the brain. The treatment is delivered through sensors placed on your head.
Treatment takes less than 20 minutes a session. During the session, you may remain quiet, talk to the medical professional administering the treatment, or listen to music or a podcast. It’s your choice. You have treatments five days a week for six weeks for a total of 30 treatments. Some insurance policies cover TMS, but you need a referral from a doctor or mental health professional for the treatment.
TMS Therapy is free from the same side effects as antidepressant medications. The most common side effect of TMS is temporary mild to moderate pain or discomfort at or near the treatment site on your head. Some patients also experience headaches following the initial session but quickly adjust during the treatment process.
TMS Therapy is non-invasive and allows patients to resume daily activities immediately following treatment sessions.
ILC’s sister clinic, Integrative Neurolife Center, has measured a 70% decrease in client symptoms following the 30 treatments.
